NAIA Football-2000 Wheat Bowl Results

Concordia capitalized on sterling special teams play, particularly by its punt return unit, to fashion a quick early lead and to seemingly coast to its Wheat Bowl VI victory.  The Bulldogs returned five Lindenwood punts for 174 yards, including a Brent Blecha 75-yarder for a touchdown.  Concordia ran a Wheat Bowl record 76 plays, the Bulldogs' Jacob Logsdon toed a record-setting 31 yard field goal and Darin Suckstorf equaled bowl records by rushing for two touchdowns and scoring 12 points.  The game was contested in temperatures hovering around the 100-degree mark at kick-off and before a crowd of 5,713.
