Six starters return and it begins and ends up front with our offensive line. Three starters return there, led by SR James Tabor along with JR Josh Horn and SO Mitch Butterfield. JR Michael Gallagher will also be counted on heavily. JR TE Matt Melillo returns along with JR RB and leading rusher Jesse Rogers. SR Josh Becker returns to lead a talented group at WR including SO’s Sam Camp and Jace Glover. Major focus will be on the QB position with the graduation of Aaron Hansen. Returners Kris Denton (SR) and Brett Darling (SO) have the most experience – Denton started the final game of the 2014 season (a win over Saint Mary). Darling played a solid amount of the time 2014 until an injury sidelined him late in the season – he’s healthy now and ready to compete.
Coach Lewis says this about the defense:
Seven starters returner led by ‘all everything’ SR Mason Pauly in the defensive line. We’ll count heavily on SR Bryce Johnson and JR Troy Calloway, along with SR Dominic Barba. SR’s Moses Tili and Hunter Lewis return at linebackers along with leading tackler SO Josh Lewis. SR Jacob Adelman returns to lead our secondary. This group stood out nicely during spring practice – the talent level will not be an issue with the DB’s.
