Faulkner is coming off back-to-back Mid-South West titles, and back-to-back playoff appearances, but has fallen in the first round both times. The Eagles will also need to find a new starting quarterback for the second consecutive season. The strength of the offense should be the running attack, with returning tailback Joe Jones looking for holes opened by a line that Coach Boren thinks will easily be the most talented in the program's history. New defensive coordinator Cam Clark looks to install a new system while also plugging substantial holes on all three levels of his squad. The special teams should be solid with the return of punter Phillip Anderson, who averaged just under forty yards per punt last fall and then took the Eagles baseball team within two wins of a national championship as a starting pitcher.
Coach Boren says this about the offense:
We are really excited about the upcoming year offensively. We have more starters returning than in any of our 4 previous seasons, as well as a talented group of new players coming into the program. There is a lot that has to happen to be successful offensively, but we really think if the right pieces fall into place we could have an exciting year.
